Connections, Circles….Centered

thank you dear friends...journeying through cycles & circles...

Did you know about ‘Circle Day?’ Fascinating….

This connects me to friendship, and the raw, easily forgotten, and crucial ideal of taking the time for a friend. Having coffee with a friend and really trying to listen, really sitting for a while, is such a mirror to our processes. It’s not easy to witness. To connect. To transcend our stories to meet someone in the midst of their messy lifetime’s worth of stories. Completely different. Yet we are reminded of our own messes.

Yet, when we connect somewhere, isn’t that magical? Especially after so many years of living, expectations, judgments, disappointments.

“Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force. You can see that when you think how the friends that really listen to us are the ones we move toward, and we want to sit in their radius as though it did us good, like ultraviloet rays.”…….Brenda Ueland…..”Strength to the Sword Arm’

There is a soft spot…a cyclical transcending of two-dimensional, flat, small-talked-out-places….a place where we really, really, really talk. Thank your friends for that.

I thank mine!

I hate small talk. And I hate feeling trapped in superficiality. I hate circles which lead nowhere. And I am transformed by circles of growth, those unexpected mirrors….unconditional….expanding loves and people who push me to go beyond my comforts, my limitations, my pedantic trappings.

In honor of Circle Day…..3 circles connect……

1 in nature, 1 human-made, and 1 experiential……bring them to life for you…..

1)clouds, 2)walking, and 3)the cyclical friendships of my life.

Connections like seeds….

….like fog

  1. Wonderful !!!
I also realised that there is actually a lot that you say when you just listen and say nothing.
When you give the other person the space to express themselves to you.
When a nod might be the noisiest thing you want to do.
In this world where it is not that common to find someone who can listen to you; people find their treasure in you – the one willing to listen to them 🙂

Thanks for passing by my blog and for the comment.
I love the post. Keep it up.
