the feelings between us

I need something besides my own humanity to be comfortable.

I need something besides my own mind to find my way.

I need something besides my own will to see the beauty around me.

I need solace.

I need perspective.

I need help.

I need reassurance.

I need connection.

I need love.

And there is zero—nada—no human being or—zero—nada—no external thing that can offer me this.

I need the solace of Grace.

I need connection to that which is greater than us.

I always have.

I always will.

seeing vs. knowing

As mindfulness reconnects you with your heart (your emotions), compassion naturally grows over time. The clearer you are about how things really are, the more you will realize that you are not alone. You will also recognize that all human beings experience pain. However, compassion can also grow through specific practices. The aim of practicing compassion is to offer kindness to ourselves and others. When we are kind, we are more likely to approach and meet our pain rather than avoid it and withdraw. And as you nurture your compassion, you will reconnect with your heart and your sense of who you are as a person. You will also reconnect with others, who can help you along your path.
