Spending time in the studio with my little people is one of my greatest joys….their excitement is palpable…then I see everything in a new light….

My muddy places are infused with new life, purpose, & beauty….

I am reminded of my own unique imagination…

Children do not forsake that part of themselves where our deepest joy lives; the part that’s invisible but very strong, like electricity or love….they understand their own uniqueness….how no one sees things in exactly the same way they do & so their art is never the same as anyone else’s….and why that is good….they are close to their creativity, best friends with their Muses, familiar with the power of imagination & playing in the imaginary…..they are the wise ones….Jan Phillips
