forgetting how….

We start out looking wide

and far, wanting everything,

and then life says, yes but you 

enter it through all that is small.

Then, we want to love the world

and trip, if blessed, into loving

one thing so completely that

we become love.

If we only think our way into

these things, our head will 

explode into insignificance 

or even despair.

But drop all that doesn’t

matter, and we can shimmy

through this moment and 

shine in place like a star 

in the middle of the day.
