What can we gain by sailing to the moon of we are not able to cross the abyss that separates us from ourselves? This is the most important of all voyages of discovery, and without it all the rest are not only useless but disastrous…..Thomas Merton

reflecting on our ignorance in a deeply fundamental and life affirming light is healing and nurturing…..it is truth….shedding new meaning on the vicissitudes scattered throughout our life….knowing is restless and yet remains sacred to the bruised and tired heart…

Vision provides the intuition from which understanding is born. Clear, concentrated vision sees things as they are, and understanding is born from actively investigating and analyzing the way things are. By probing deeply into their own experience, wise people see deeply into the fundamental nature of reality. In doing so, they begin to rediscover aspects of the perennial philosophy. For them this is no mere theoretical knowledge, but is rather a direct personal recognition born of their penetrating explorations of life, the world, and the mind. Wise people learn a great deal that remains hidden to the ordinary person, yet paradoxically they also learn there are limits to learning. This practical wisdom is skill in living, especially in responding to the central, existential issues of life. It is a way of living that expresses the visionary and understanding aspects of wisdom……Roger Walsh

how do we find our greatest mystery?

Wisdom is radiant and unfolding

and she is easily discerned by those who love her,

and is found by those who seek her.

She hastens to make herself known

to those who desire her.

To fix one’s thoughts on her is perfect understanding.

The beginning of wisdom is the most sincere desire for instruction.

The multitude of the wise is the salvation of the world.

….Wisdom of Solomon

  1. It’s funny. I can always be filled when I assume I am empty……that the cup is waiting. All that comes to me doesn’t fill the cup but becomes a part of it……..making room for more. Let us run over………let us constantly evolve into a larger cup. Love to you this beautiful Sunday. ~ Bobbie

    • I see you with a beautiful, empty tea cup…..imaginary aromas from some exotic oolong tea…..and then the heart fills and spills into the cup….all the love filling the cup into tea and blessings…..may your imagination spill over today Bobbie…
