Curing vs. Healing

I am reflective with end of life care issues. Quite familiar and drawn to its bigness in our lives. Aware of my touchstone to gray crevices in the day to day.

I have been on a journey of discovering how to intitiate this larger conversation…..philosophically and as a caregiver.

To me, this dialogue has unique connection to art making. In a contemplative approach to dying, we see our process as healing, leaving curing alone.

Dignity. Isn’t this what our art process is about? Not so much making as it is creating. Moving away from expectations and judgments….the same kind we have with curing….that forcing against nature.

Allowing. Let things be as they are.Acceptance. Keep moving. Trust.

allowing....crevices of gray....in between...
