winter white

winter white's peaceful glow...

“Your brightness is my darkness. I know nothing of You and, by myself, I cannot even imagine how to go about knowing You. If I imagine You, I am mistaken. If I understand You, I am deluded. If I am conscious and certain I know You, I am crazy. The darkness is enough.”
—Thomas Merton, prayer before midnight mass at Christmas, 1941

This quietude which comes upon us now….settling into our place beside our families & friends….we reflect….we pause…we search for our stillpoint…

Finding a much needed moment in the studio & on the yoga mat….a sweet long walk….and time with the cat & a book & a pen….

The paradox is this coming together balanced with solitude….a beautiful time….

This Christmas Eve…making time…balancing tinsel & reverence

To sing, you must put courage behind your song. To be heard, you must put heart and time into your song. But first you need to pause. Power comes from the quiet inside. The power to paint. Except for the point, the stillpoint, There would be no dance, And there is only the dance.       — T.S. Eliot
