“Who are you?” said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, “I…..I hardly know, Sir, just at present…..at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have changed several times since then.”…..Lewis Carroll
We are working on being the one “I” among many….the one more desirable, authentic, intuitive….like choosing the shiniest, most colorful & lively fish from the wishing pool….
The idea of water’s transformative aura…..shape-shifting, forgiving, a bit annihilating of old habits….ahhh….to shed the self…..then to try & reclaim it…..I am caught up in this idea of water this week….
Rather silly isn’t it?
Just allowing these nuances of wave & whoosh & the quiet heavy weight of water to wash over the week like…..waterfalls….
Without preparing ourselves through preliminary practices, the only answer to the question, “Who am I?” is “The same old fool.”…..Swami Sivananda
Ok, so what are ‘preliminary practices?’ Something like chasing your tail, then pretending you don’t need to chase your tail, swim along awhile, & then catch yourself chasing your tail again?
Like I said, it all seems a bit silly doesn’t it?
