flames of divinity blazing in pure color

cold stones...soft soul...

The most beautiful poetry & music have come from people who were in turmoil. Great art comes from the depth of one’s being. You can experience these very human states without getting lost in them or resisting them. You can notice that you notice & just watch how experiencing loneliness affects you. If you sit within the Self, you will experience the strength of your inner being even when your heart feels weak. This is the essence of any spiritual life…..Michael Singer

this reminds me of an unconditional need for color…..eons of deep crimson, vermillion, teal essence, buttery yellow & the bluest blue….where do you find your passion? your muse? your wayward angels?

can the seeker still be present to vulnerability, yet invisible to the uglies of the heart?

where does your generosity burst into flames of color?

The art of the inner work, which unlike the outer does not forsake the artist, which he does not ‘do’ & can only ‘be,’ springs from the depths of which the day knows nothing…Eugen Herrigel

  1. What spills from my vesseled heart, is dance,
music will comfort, calm, inspire and energize me, but I’m truly at my most artistic when I dance

  2. coasting down a hill very fast on a bike with my legs sticking out, loving a song so much that I can’t help but get up and dance, laughing out loud at something so unexpected, being stunned that an inanimate object can speak to me..

    • Wow! I love that you bring laughter into this… pure & whimsical imagery….yes, more laughter & childlike reverie…stunned & awed by life….thanks for sharing…

      • I was reflecting on my comment to your post and wanted to explain to you that I don’t handle other people’s pain and suffering very well. It hurts me. For instance, for all their beauty, I have difficulty studying Van Gough’s paintings, because I knew he was in such pain and struggled with mental illness. His art represents his struggle. When I am in the deepest funk or having a dark day and can’t conceive of accomplishing anything, I try to lift myself up by energizing, jamming my ipod buds in my ear so my music can get me going, dancing, exercising, letting the wind run through my hair. It takes work, but I need to find joy and laughter to make me feel human again, to emerge from the darkness and live.

  3. I, too, am very sensitive. Channeling that energy, yes….what a lovely & real way to do it! I don’t see it so much as ‘making you feel human again’ as it is getting us back to feeling connected. Your humanness shines through with being so compassionate & allowing yourself to feel in the first place. Don’t lose that! Awesome post…..I remember a great line in ‘An Officer & A Gentleman’….Jack Nicholson hangin’ out of his convertible yelling….’wind in the hair!’ (no hair of course:) Thanks Elisa….
