Learning to trust the unfolding of one’s life is awkward, painful work that often leaves one feeling exposed & vulnerable. And it does not happen overnight. How do we find the courage to let go of what feels sure & safe & comfortable so that a new possibility can unfold? Many women are adults or older before they develop a sense of allowing, or trusting, their essential nature. But rather than actually leaving home, it seems that something helped widen or deepen a channel already running through the woman’s life. A critical part of home-leaving in a woman’s spiritual development is the willingnes not to know where she is going. When everything familiar has been sheared away, we are presented with a great opportunity for spiritual growth. We are likely to examine our lives more deeply than we ever have before & be asked to trust far beyond our understanding……S. Anderson & P. Hopkins
down into dunes, flooding storms rage like beauteous wet wings heavy with tide & sand & hunger for flight….nowhere to go except to keep on keepin’ on…..this is waiting sometimes…this is the empty dance floor late at night….this is the tired old sacred mantra….this is being in this life fully…
The people who are in touch with the deep soul are the very ones who do real good in the world. Those who are more concerned with ‘doing good’ than with finding & loving their own deep souls end up unable to really help others. Your self-knowledge & self-love are the most unselfish gifts you can give to another. It takes an odd combination of backbone & abandon to walk the path of the heart. Jesus told his disciples to be ‘lights unto the world.’ A tender heart & a brave soul light up the path for others with the kind of luminosity that heals & enlivens. So don’t worry about being good. Instead, discover how both good & bad live within you. Deeply accept the shadows as you seek the light…..Elizabeth Lesser
the in-between space is where to explore the heartfulness journey….the wise shadow work of dodging traps & dogma & shoulds & fears….proud to be full of gratitude, a little disheveled & fierce in faith….
I said to my soul, be still, & wait without hope
For hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love
For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith
But the faith & the love & the hope are all in the waiting.
….T.S. Eliot

This is such rich content, it touches on the singular question along the path, how can we live in the world but not be of the world, and I think it is true to live in the spaces…The rests between the notes of the symphony, the listening to the meditation bells quietly fading, where does its sound stop and silence begin?
Love your poetic sensibilities g.f.s….So beautifully stated that I feel as if I could actually live in that in-between space, no matter the difficulties…..like I could give my heart & still have the strength to bear it…..blessings…
T.S. said it best. Let us await with calm the stilling of our souls.
He indeed knew about the faith needed to abide the waiting….breathe & allow life….thanks granbee….may your stillpoint be ever present…
