where does the inner compass point?

Everyone in the modern world has probably heard that there is no absolute reality, that truth is relative. This relative nature of reality is particularly valued today, as our recognition of it allows us to debunk and discard old tyrannies and social hierarchies. No human being can say what is right and true for everyone because we each interpret events according to our personal history and culture. And yet there is a reality that we twist away from that we can return to. This truth is a dimension of reality beyond the interpretation of meanings, beyond the workings of the individual thinking mind. It is the spiritual essence, the radiant, sentient transparency, pervading everywhere. When we can access this reality, we are truly in contact with ourselves, with nature, and with other human beings……Judith Blackstone
