fearless through the coldest night

Each and every time we dip our toes into the lake of fire, while staring our demons in our face, we are heroes. We are triumphant in truth and fearlessness. One of those times, you will realize that the burn of the lake doesn’t actually have the power to destroy you and you will feel the heat of courage that is the only true transformative burn. Look at your mistakes and actualize this new found courage by forgiving yourself and moving on to bigger and better moments. In the thick of the fire, you may be bloodied, bruised, burned, scorned, and impaled by the truth that is your darker side. Stop hiding from your darkness…….Anjana Love-Dixon

believing in the coldest night of winter…..in the hopeless heart that finds the sky…..in the sadness that forgives the anger…..in the spring that will surely come…..

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.
So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.
Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever.
……..Neil Gaiman

I am neither a priest nor a theologian, neither a devotee of nor a spokesperson for any particular spiritual tradition or path. I am an ordinary woman with an extraordinary hunger: to live with an awareness of the Sacred Mystery, the Beloved- God- at the center of my life and to learn from this presence who I am and why I am here…….Oriah Mountain Dreamer

  1. Who I am and why am I here … these are the questions that are above all others, and should give us pause to wonder every day of our lives … This, I think is one of the earliest questions I asked myself, and to this day it is the quest regardless of how many days are spent wandering the forests of time keep the body warm and nourished … So it goes through experience we discover our true nature is just that – nature… may consciousness reveal its true self to you today …

    • you remind me of the days in my youth….an intense search for ‘the meaning of life’….I asked everyone I knew……an amazing untethered freedom when I finally understood that no one knew….it was up to me to ‘live’….my heart breaks again and again simply because I know this too to be the path to living…..such sweetness in this life g.f.s…..

  2. I am reminded that a flame burns eternal within the soul – even the snow can’t get in…….. I love this, Blue.

I am also reminded of a quote of my father’s (one he shared each time I might complain about the weather) – ‘you don’t even know it’s cold right before you freeze to death’. As a child, that wasn’t much encouragement, but as I’ve aged, I’ve come to understand something sweeter about that message – ‘if you’re cold, you’re alive’…………. Ahhh, and there the truth. ~ B

    • our own deepest knowing protects the the little pit of the heart….yes, the eternal flame…..it all swirls and yet there is a stillness…..so charmed and blessed to know this……love your warm heart Bobbie….
