revealing the open door

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.

Don’t go back to sleep.

You must ask for what you really want.

Don’t go back to sleep.

People are going back and forth across the doorsill

where the two worlds touch.

The door is round and open.

Don’t go back to sleep.

….Rumi

it’s so easy to deceive and to be deceived by our purpose, by our intentions, by our inner squabbles…….do we really know our higher self? can we commit to the fruition of our dreams? can we ask the questions of the intimate soul? can we understand our creative will?

‘The door is round and open.’ How’s that for a simple truth? But what do we do? Why, we fall crashing into the sleep of an unconscious life and then whine and complain about how hard life is, how unfulfilled we feel- how disconnected, how lonely, how sad. We complain that we don’t get what we want, what we so clearly deserve. But is that the door’s fault? No. The door to the inner world is open. The door to the soul is round. The door to the inside journey, the door to real human and spiritual connection, the door to peace, the door to fulfillment, the door to joy is open. So who’s got a problem here? Why, we do. Ask yourself: When was I in touch with my soul’s purpose? When was I connected with my best self, my soul, my full expression? When did I walk through that door and touch what’s real, what’s true, what’s holy? Then ask yourself: When, in Rumi’s words, did I go back to sleep- back to old habits, the old fears, the old assumptions, the old numbness. Do you want a beautiful, abundant, magical life? You can have one, but magic comes only to those awake enough to see it and use it…….Janet Conner

where shall I lay down truth?

Each of us literally chooses by his way of attending to things, what sort of universe he shall appear to himself to inhabit……William James

  1. In a world where so many would demean our efforts to create (even fellow creators), the loudest voice is the internal one (I’m not good enough, I haven’t paid my dues, nobody will read this). It is the voice that keeps us on the couch, in the pantry, tied up in the laundry room. It is that which has come to steal our soul. Whatever the cost, we must pay for it is the price to be whole – to have truly lived. May all your doors open from the inside……….. ~ Love, Bobbie

    • fierce grace in action, embodied as fear turned inside out…..choice as spiritual practice…..may you walk through doors with seriously present sidekicks Bobbie….

  2. For the earth is hollow and I have touched the sky … Until we have explored the tunnels and crevices of our lives, the hollows of our minds, can we ever say the word we are free with any truth in our voices?

    • shadow work may be the final blessing of a well-lived life…..this is where the poets live I think…..with courage and light…..may the hollowed tunnel of vision see you through today g.f.s…..
