It is the nothing, the Mystery, the emptiness alone
that needs to be realized;
not known but felt, not thought but breathed,
not an object but an atmosphere.
~Ken Wilber
maybe it’s a felt sense…..maybe it’s a disconnected wondering…..maybe it’s an uneasy dullness……maybe it’s an electric aliveness………
Before you know kindness as the deepest thing inside,
you must know sorrow as the other deepest thing.
You must wake up with sorrow.
You must speak to it till your voice
catches the thread of all sorrows
and you see the size of the cloth.
Then it is only kindness that makes sense anymore,
only kindness that ties your shoes
and sends you out into the day to mail letters and purchase
bread,
only kindness that raises its head
from the crowd of the world to say
it is I you have been looking for,
and then goes with you everywhere
like a shadow or a friend.
~Naomi Shihab Nye
The first direct contact with pure being is often the most dramatic because of the contrast between our chronic state of contraction and the feeling of being opened wide. When this door first cracks open, it can feel like a pressure chamber releasing- there can be a big whoosh. If we don’t resist this opening, the body-mind will adjust over time, and a new balance will emerge. When we get in touch with our truth, we feel more inwardly aligned, vertically upright, in our integrity, and alive. There is a subtle yet clear sense of things falling into place and lining up inside. These qualities relate to what I call the current of life. We can feel authenticity in ourselves and others. The more we are in our truth, the easier it is to sense. ~John Prendergast

the first part of this about kindness touches me so deeply………in my old age these two things: kindness and laughter are my essentials. They are all we need.
love these ideals Eileen……may they nurture and always be guides…..
