And we have our practice, long engaged, to train our heart and mind. Our training allows us to want to see through our clinging and our illusions. Our training allows us to want to see through our clinging and our illusions. Practice, aligned with grace, develops a perspective that can see. It develops our capacity to simply show up in our lives and be present. We step through the always-open door in such a simple way: by a willingness to be where we are in each never-before, never-again present moment. We allow each new arising and release it in its dissolution. We remain at the zero point in our simple willingness to be, bare and prop-free, where we are. This is the abode of wonder, and aspect of presence, alive with the realization that we have no idea what will appear in the next moment. There is an innocence, an enlivening, when we are living in grace. ~Kathleen Dowling Singh
