your soul’s way

Many of us mistake the descent for failure. Yet it may be that this is precisely where the path becomes most intimate. There comes a season when consciousness is no longer being asked to rise above experience, but to enter it more completely—to discover that what we seek is not found beyond our humanity, but hidden within it.

The Goddess appears there, not as an obstacle to realization, but as its guardian. She is not especially interested in how much we understand or how convincing our spiritual conclusions may sound. What she asks for is far simpler and infinitely more demanding. She asks for contact. Direct, embodied contact with the places we once abandoned in order to keep going.

Perhaps this is why genuine initiation has always involved both darkness and vision. The old stories knew that a light untouched by the underworld remains strangely weightless. It can illuminate the mind while leaving the heart untouched. But a light that has passed through grief, through surrender, through the slow reorganization of the soul, carries a different warmth. It no longer shines upon life. It shines from within it.

And perhaps this is why the Goddess leads her initiates beneath the earth. Not because something has gone wrong, but because love is asking to become more fully embodied.

I can always begin down and in…

inquiry for today~ and may your wisdom show it’s fierce breadth….

how will it be right now?

My grandmother said

some blessings are too small for thunder.

They arrive as a quiet stirring,

and only the listening heart can hear them.

So when sorrow sat beside me,

I did not drive it from the doorway.

I gave it water, called it relative,

and let the old silence teach us both.

The elders knew that healing

does not always come like fire.

Sometimes it is a soft medicine,

light enough to rest upon the spirit.

What is broken in us

is not the end of the story.

The Earth keeps working in secret,

turning ache into tenderness.

And when I forget my own strength,

the ancestors return in humble ways—

to remind me that even the smallest prayer

can carry a soul back into the light.
