fall in love everyday & why being rational is overrated

the glow

Seeing the ordinary world clearly is a source of raw material & inspiration. Strangely enough, you don’t need to learn how to be artistic. It is as natural as breathing & the beating of your heart. Nevertheless, natural artistry is often inaccessible because it is concealed. A good analogy is the way the sun constantly radiates light even though you can’t always see it. Artistry arises from mind’s natural wakefulness, creativity, & humor when the obstacles are cleared away. Before you can learn to remove the clouds, you need to understand their nature…..A. Karr & M. Wood

this is why we laugh at ourselves, play outside, fall in love everyday, & eat ice cream…

Beyond rational & critical thinking, we need to be called again. This can lead to the discovery of a ‘second naivete,’ which is a return to the joy of our first naivete, but now totally new, inclusive, & mature thinking…..Paul Ricoeur

 return to joy….

  1. Great message… We need to keep joy in our lives, I do it for my children, and grandchildren, my grandson says I’m ‘silly’ but what he is learning from me is the absurdity of how the world makes us live in what Robert Anton Wilson calls our Reality Tunnels…

  2. Feeling joy is such a pure emotion…its important to remember not to let life stand in its way.

  3. Yes! It is possible to have a child-like sense of naivete and wonder – an openness to the magic and mystery and beauty of the world – and still be mature, wise, capable. We can fall in love with each moment…

    • Indeed….true maturity lends a hand to playfulness in the face of difficulties…we just need to remember…thanks for the reminder:)

  4. Joy often enters my life through movement, lingering in the yard as I walk the dog, dancing instead of walking, practicing yoga. I am grateful for being alive, and that gratitude opens the door to joy and creativity.

    • Love that reminder about how connected body/mind really is….& how this shows we usually overthink & overanalyze….stepping out & into the moment….yes, gratitude then becomes available….thanks so much for sharing….enjoy…
