The astonishing thing is that in spite of all we have done, the earth still offers back so much beauty, so much sustenance. So much of what we need is embodied in it. If we treat things in accord with what we believe they’re worth, then the value of the world is something that we imagine. The thing that we can do for the world is always expressed in terms of how we can treat the world & each other, the quality of our behavior…..Emmet Gowin
there’s something elemental in compassion….a direct communication to the divine….a mother-quality….an instinctive ‘right behavior’….sister to mercy…..a profound discipline in the simplest act of witnessing another….
The world-view now emerging- if we are bold to experience its implicatons- lets us behold anew & experience afresh the web of life in which we exist. It opens us to the vast intelligence of life’s self-organizing powers, which have brought us forth from interstellar gases & primordial seas. It brings us to a larger identity in which to cradle & transcend our ego-identified fear. It lets us honor our pain for the world as a gateway into deep participation in the world’s self-healing…..Joanna Macy

The truest expression of compassion is the giving of our mother regardless of how we treat her, it is our own action that could be our undoing…
The truest measure of compassion…yes…unconditional love….beautiful gratitude….thanks g.f.s…..
It is said that every cure we will need is in nature. Since we are part of nature, we have adapted to survive on the basis of what is available in nature. We need nothing else.
I like this because it speaks to our essence of source…of needing to be present with ‘what is in the moment’….thanks for sharing Alex….a long & mindful walk sounds great doesn’t it?
A long mindful walk is encouraged 🙂

Did you just do the 8 day? I wish I would have realized the difference between the two programs and I would have done this one. Still want to do the chaplain program but I have some things I have to work out first.
You’ll have to tell me all about it!
