waiting out the suffering….an old friend….an old porch…

an old front porch....

Walk long enough & we all trade places. It’s how we grow & heal, again & again, by holding & being held. I have been held & dropped, have hurt & soothed others, enough to accept that the reasons of the heart are leaves in wind. Stand up tall & everything will nest in you….Mark Nepo

Witnessing on the front porch….a sweet & creaky swing….the light just right….the light on the porch is always right…an old, old friend….working on the problems of the world….everything can be soothed on the front porch….

holding hearts on the front porch…..surrounding loss….

Today, like every other day,

we wake up empty & frightened.

Don’t open the door to the study & begin reading.

Take down the dulcimer. Let the beauty we love

be what we do. There are hundreds of ways

to kiss the ground.

…Rumi
