there is faith in the dark night

1-IMG_1414 2

I want to write about faith,
about the way the moon rises
over cold snow, night after night,
faithful even as it fades from fullness,
slowly becoming that last curving and impossible
sliver of light before the final darkness.
But I have no faith myself,
I refuse it the smallest entry.
Let this then, my small poem,
like a new moon, slender and barely open,
be the first prayer that opens me to faith.
…..David Whyte

it is beautifully simple really….this little prayer to ‘be here’……to be with grace…..to follow a dream through sand and water…..to consider bliss to be our gift….to find joy within the calm…..

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life……John Lennon

this great suffering….

Things don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy. To stay with a broken heart, with a rumbling stomach, with the feeling of hopelessness and wanting to get revenge—that is the path of true awakening.

  1. I love this…….. Today, at a luncheon, my boss spoke about gratitude and blessings – the ability to see into the sweet wealth of nothing – to know the feeling of blessing the same as wind through your hair or sunlight on your face. To just know – to know love regardless of whether it is deserved or warranted. There, our blessing sits in coral blossoms – whispering words we know by heart. This is a beautiful reminder to breathe in the magic that is gratitude……..that is love. ~ Bobbie

    • I love this connection between gratitude and faith…..the helping hands….knowing that we can be carried when we need it…..all through love. You see love and be love Bobbie…

  2. Things fall apart, that is the way of this realm, and I think even others, no matter how subtle matter is, even the Ether falls apart into its fine elements. This fabric of time we live within or are surrounded by, allows us to perceive a reality of our our belief … where does it end? Somewhere outside of duality and underneath fabric, if we look for the beginning, there we will find an end … Let light be you guide today …

    • it does indeed come back to duality, to our basic nature of striving, to forgetting ourselves……resting in the change I see today, knowing change to be movement…..may you know the illusion of stillness today g.f.s….
