worthy of an imagined dream

Stretching his hand up to reach the stars,
too often man forgets the flowers at his feet.
…..Jeremy Bentham

allow it all to be…..land in the knowing, like the shedding of your day……be awake and aware and forgiving and gloriously adaptable…….may your simple house hold your heart, wrestle with storms, and cradle the heavens…..

This is what you shall do: love the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to every one that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning god, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of me, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and with the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul, and your very flesh shall be a great poem and have the richest fluency not only in its words but in the silent lines of its lips and face and between the lashes of your eyes and in every motion and joint of your body…..Walt Whitman

an image of adaptability

May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities
that are born of faith in yourself and others.
May you use the gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content with yourself just the way you are.
Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow
your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
…..Saint Terese of Liseaux
