I will whisper secrets in your ear
just nod yes and be silent.
A soul moon
appeared in the path of my heart.
How precious is this journey.

where can we mend? can we conjure up an experience designed for our brokenness? can we laugh when we cry and find joy without grounding? is it all really that hard? when the heart lifts from the belly, do we remember how?

The life task or spiritual challenge of the first chakra is to accept our own physical life in the package it came in and come to see that package as essential to our incarnation and our sacred journey. We baptize ourselves, in other words. Each of us will have some sacred flaw, something given to us to endure- maybe it’s a physical condition or a family burden we have to learn to live with- something we cannot change but that is meant to make us change. Through this sacred flaw we are meant to connect to divine mystery. This mark or burden given to us by the gods at our birth signals us that our life will not unfold in a logical, orderly sequence of right and wrong, good and bad, pain and pleasure. We look for the blessing in the boulder we cannot remove from our path and come to be grateful for our lives, accepting the journey that is ours alone to live. The point at which we stop asking, “Why me?” and accept that some things can never have rational explanations marks the beginning of our acceptance of the spiritual mystery of divine will….Carolyn Myss

finding the true spark

She was stretched on her back beneath
the pear tree soaking in the alto chant of
the visiting bees, the gold of the sun and
the panting breath of the breeze when
the inaudible voice of it all came to her.
