intrinsic curiosities

Between the stimulus and the response there is a space

and in that space lies our power and our freedom.

…..Victor Frankl

the idea of whispering into a defensive heart undoes our patterns of resistance….our truth….our inner worth…

The great gift of a spiritual path is coming to trust that you can find a way to true refuge. You realize that you can start right where you are, in the midst of your life, and find peace in any circumstance. Even at those moments when the ground shakes terribly beneath you- when there’s a loss that will alter you life forever- you can still trust that you will find your way home. This is possible because you’ve touched the timeless love and awareness that are intrinsic to who you are. Truth is the living reality that is revealed in the present moment; love is the felt sense of connectedness or oneness with all life; and awareness is the silent wakefulness behind all experience, the consciousness that is reading these words, listening to sounds, perceiving sensations and feelings. Each of these gateways is a fundamental part of who we are; each is a refuge because it is always here, embedded in our won being……..Tara Brach

clarity of presence

Sometimes you hear a voice through the door calling you,

As a fish out of water hears the waves- Come back. Come back.

This turning toward what you deeply love saves you.

  1. When picking up a hot pan without a pot holder and knowing I just burned my hand there is a brief moment between stimulus and response where realization takes place … In every experience this is Viktor Frankl’s moment of choice, whether physical, emotional, or mental, we decide how we are hurt, or healed as we travel the by ways of our reality tunnels …

    • so much happens in the pause if we are present…..how many times do I forget? humbling, each and every one…….as Rumi says, come back, come back……
