When you aren’t distracted by your own negative thinking, when you don’t allow yourself to get lost in moments that are gone or yet to come, you are left with this moment. The soul is the only true source of spiritual nourishment. When our channel to the soul is open, we live in a more harmonious reality. ~Sydney Banks
finding the balance between sleeping and waking……living deep in our bodies to find soul space….
You know of the disease in Central Africa called sleeping sickness. there also exists a sleeping sickness of the soul. Its most dangerous aspect is that one is unaware of its coming. This is why you have to be careful. As soon as you notice the slightest sign of indifference, the moment you become aware of the loss of a certain seriousness, of longing, of enthusiasm and zest, take it as a warning. You should realize your soul suffers if you live superficially. ~Albert Schweitzer
in this life of mirrors
Even when our life is most difficult, it is important to remember that something within us is keeping us alive- the life force- that lifts us, energizes us, pulls us back sometimes from the abyss of despair. True spirituality does not exist without love of life. How do we nurture the soul? By revering our own life. By treating it as supremely important. By reaching for the best within ourselves. By learning to love it all, not only the joys and the victories, but also the pain and the struggles. ~Nathaniel Branden
