Sometimes you have to leave
what you think you know
No one ever really wants to do this.
thinking we know things
can be very comforting.
All day, soul whispers
what I need to know.
I don’t hear her
until I lay aside
cherished beliefs and assumptions
until I dare to be with the not-knowing.
And then. . . .
Well, that’s the risky part, isn’t it?
There is no telling
what living an ensouled life
might ask of us.
~Oriah Mountain Dreamer
in the bigger picture, we act gracefully and in sync with our highest ideals……in our small lives, we can easily succumb to our wounds……may soul abundance reach deep and wild……
The path of the soul is from the individual to the universal, and beyond and to Itself, essential suchness, formless Being. Happiness is asuperstition, but joy is your birthright. We think that by working in our everyday, busy mind and polishing the personality and letting its best aspects express themselves, we can make ourselves perfect. But even enlightenment does not perfect the personality- only the point of view. We are enlightened out of the personality, the individual and separate, into the soul, the universal inseparable. ~Stephen Levine
Some tension is necessary for the soul to grow, and we can put that tension to good use. We can look for every opportunity to give and receive love, to appreciate nature, to heal our wounds and the wounds of others, to forgive, and to serve. ~Joan Borysenko
