Narrow it down.
Stay on the path where your heart is on fire.
Trust it, that is the door.

~Chameli Ardagh

and this……and this again…..come back to the path….back to the beginning….each is a certain part of the spirals that descend and ascend again and again…..

There are a number of translations of the Tao with different emphasis and nuance. Here is a response from May Zhang, a reader in China, commenting on an excerpt from the Tao that I sent her.

She wrote:

Who understands the world is learned;
Who understands the self is enlightened.
Who conquers the world has strength;
Who conquers the self has harmony.

~Roderick MacIver

the inevitable shift

I have just three things to teach:
simplicity, patience, compassion.
These three are your greatest treasures.
Simple in actions and in thoughts,
you return to the source of being.
Patience with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
Compassionate toward yourself,
you reconcile all beings in the world.
~Lao-Tzu
