The point of mindfulness is not to get rid of thought but to learn to see thought skillfully. Considered thoughts are a great gift. When we rest i the heart, then we can use thought wisely, we can plan and imagine in benevolent ways. The key to wise thought is to sense the energy state behind the thought. If we pay attention, we will notice that certain thoughts are produced by fear and the small sense of self. With this pause we return to our Buddha nature. Now we can think, imagine, and plan, but from a state of ease and benevolence. It’s that simple. ~Jack Kornfield
how many times have you forgotten to swim in the wild current of feelings?
inquiry for today~ allow a little humor and ease into your capacity to experience the day……..can you accept and release any resistance to discomfort?
Don’t surrender your loneliness
So quickly.
Let it cut more deep.
Let it ferment and season you
As few human
Or even divine ingredients can.
~Hafiz
