Even if you sometimes experience life as a linear path—turning a corner, facing a new challenge; turning another corner and falling in love; turning another corner, having babies; turning another corner, facing our dharma, our vocation; turning another corner, facing illness; turning another corner, facing peace; turning another corner, feeling like the ground is disappearing underneath our feet; turning another corner, feeling on top of the world; turning another corner, having a spiritual experience; turning another corner, feeling we have lost all connection, that we should be further along by now…

This journey is more like a vertical journey than a linear one towards some goal in the future. It is a journey deeper and deeper into the inside of the inside of this. The door is always open. She is breathing Her sweet breath from this doorway, saying, “Come. Come closer, come closer…” And the door she is calling from is your experience right now. This is the door you have been handed. And it’s up to you to enter it—or not.
