It is wise to look precisely at where we’re afraid and at what we’re afraid of. It’s wise to look precisely at those things we might feel inadequate to handle. These are our hidden corners. And it is to our hidden corners that we typically relegate our fears and our perceived neediness. In what circumstances would who I am now not be enough? What is the belief in my own inadequacy in facing down these fears? Breathing in, we fortify our courage. Breathing out, we release our fears. Breathing in, we strengthen our intention. Breathing out, we open to the way it is. ~Kathleen Dowling Singh
mercy is not without intimate cares and woes……please be ordinary and human- it is all that is asked of you…..
inquiry for today~ how will you surround your losses and shortcomings today? how will you honor them through compassion?
It is almost impossible
to overestimate the value of true humility
and its power in the spiritual life.
For the beginning of humility is the beginning of blessedness
and the consummation of humility is the perfection of all joy.
In perfect humility all selfishness disappears.
~Thomas Merton
