this remembering

We seldom notice how each day is a holy place.

Where the eucharist of the ordinary happens.

Transforming our broken fragments.

Into an eternal continuity that keeps us.

Somewhere in us a dignity presides.

That is more gracious than the smallness.

That fuels us with fear and force.

A dignity that trusts the form a day takes.

So at the end of this day, we give thanks.

For being betrothed to the unknown.

And for the secret work.

Through which the mind of the day.

And wisdom of the soul become one.

~John O’Donohue

how will you remember?

inquiry for today~ what does it mean to never forget?

this mysterious turning

It is only due to our concepts that we feel separate from the world.

We are so isolated by ideas of inadequacy, ideas of danger,

ideas of loneliness, and ideas of rejection.

While we may indeed face external difficulties,

our thoughts can amplify them- or even create them,

leading us deeper into deslusion.

If we do not want to be enslaved by our thoughts,

we can choose to transform our minds.

In any given moment, do I choose to strengthen

the delusion of separation or the truth of connection?
