where life meets the gray zone

Emptiness is never going

to get us to get up

to do anything,

but ecstasy might.

~Mary Oliver

how I lean into some sweetness….

inquiry for today~ telling the world how you feel….

when life falters….

Wonder returns to me when I stop explaining away

what was once sacred to my younger self.

The world often loses its enchantment not because it grows dim,

but because we learn to rationalize what once stirred awe in us.

Spiritual practice can be a slow,

tender recovery of our willingness to be astonished again.

When we allow mystery to stand without needing to tame it,

wonder quietly reenters the room.
