It all goes so fast.
Faster than they tell you.
Life is a symphony of small moments.
Light through the trees.
The sound of the sea.
Honey scent in the air.
Rain on our face.
And the music is starting
to play in double time.
Don’t wait to live.
Love people loudly.
Tell them while they can hear it.
Bake the cake.
No, bake two.
One for you and one for
your grumpy neighbor.
Take the trip.
Follow the howl.
Paint the river.
Sing into microphones.
Write your story!!
Wear the outfit you’ve been saving.
Saving it for what?
The exact right time and place?
That can be to the grocery store.
Half the fun is making
them wonder about you.
My love, make me a promise:
Be patient with yourself
but not with time.
Because this is the season
for ass moving.
Go be it.
You know what it is.
It’s the thing that is begging you to
become something more than business and bones.
Live your life like a sunbeam.
Burn brighter than
you think you can.
Touch every face.
Visit every shore.
Grow every garden.
And then when your light finally dims,
tell your beloveds not to cry for you.
Remind them not to gather at your gravestone because you won’t be there.
Maybe you’ll be:
~The flicker in the porch light.
~The smiling fox crossing the road at midnight.
~A song your grandchild swears came from nowhere.
Who knows?
Half the fun is wondering
what comes next.
So don’t waste any more time,
it all moves faster
than they tell you.
Before you know it,
you’ll be dancing through the doorway
into your next wild becoming.
I’ll meet you there.

considering how to lean in again…
inquiry for today~ what does it mean to live well today?
A beautifully flawed, memorable, and gratitude-filled life is at your fingertips.
All you have to do is open your hands. And say yes.
