Beauty enhances and improves our life- making it deeper, more pleasant, and stimulating: Everybody agrees on this point. But there is more: It not only betters our life, but forms its very foundation. It is primary- a vital need, like food and air and sleep. Beauty has been, from the beginning, the compass that helps us find our way. In all the choices life throws us, one usually stands out as the right one, and it is also felt as the most beautiful. If we choose that one, our conscience will be at peace, and we will not have the unpleasant aftertaste of knowing we have made an ugly choice. We cannot do without beauty. To live without beauty, because we are incapable of seeing it around us, and thus to think we live in a world in which it does not exist or is not possible, will lead to desperation. An individual who is devoid of aesthetic intelligence feels weak and his personality has no binding principle. Beauty is not an accessory or frill but a central factor, a medium for revealing who we are….Piero Ferrucci
beauty as a deeply layered metaphor for how we see the world and each other….how we make sense of suffering and the depths of time….seeking this grace is an enigma….it blooms…..the highest truth lies in the limits of the everyday…..
These roses under my window make no reference to former roses or to better ones; they are for what they are; they exist with God today. There is no time to them. There is simply the rose; it is perfect in every moment of its existence. Before a leaf-bud has burst, its whole life acts; in the full-blown flower there is no more; in the leafless root there is no less. Its nature is satisfied, and it satisfies nature, in all moments alike…..Ralph Waldo Emerson
Like a mirror reflecting
whatever stands before it,
the reality of our outer world
reflects the condition of our inner world.
