Life is a mystery to be lived,

not a problem to be solved.

our initiation into soulcentric living becomes more about revisiting our life rather than finding a new one…..happiness morphs into beingness….wisdom becomes a quest for what is real and tender…..honoring the deep mystery changes us into kind humans…..

As you add more depth to your life, what you perceive as inside and outside of you merges. Boundaries between you, others, animals, nature, and the world now become permeable. Ram Dass spoke of a person’s inner and outer realities being one and the same. He took this idea of ‘no separation’ one step further, describing how once a person finds inner peace, that person will also be able to discover and create peace in the outer world. As he told us, ‘You better go inside and find your peace of mind. That’s the best thing you can do for all of us. That’s the edge where the inner world and outer world come together.’ Likewise, dancer Anna Halprin noted: ‘It’s not enough for me, anymore, to just deal with the inner landscape, my so-called ‘inner consciousness,’ because that is so affected by the outer landscape. I have spent thirty years exploring the natural environment, and, simultaneously, exploring community. And the two, for me, go together in many ways because, in both instances, both community and nature take me to a place that’s much bigger than I am alone.’ This felt experience of inner and outer interconnectedness is deeply subjective. However, a growing body of theory and evidence from physics, psychology, and biology is uncovering physical manifestations of interconnectedness that can be predicted and observed scientifically. Dean Radin’s theory of what underlies these phenomena is described in ‘Entangled Minds: Extrasensory experiences in a Quantum Reality.’ He writes, ‘The idea of the universe as an interconnected whole is not new; for millennia it’s been one of the core assumptions of Eastern philosophies. What is new is that Western science is slowly beginning to realize that some elements of that ancient lore might be correct.’ The rapprochement between science and spirituality grows ever stronger if studied within this light…..Marilyn Schlitz

no, never really alone

You walking, your footprints are

the road, and nothing else;

there is no road, walker,

you make the road by walking.

By walking you make the road,

and when you look backward,

you see the path that you

never will step on again.

Walker, there is no road,

only wind-trails in the sea.
