opening to veiled light

Awake, my dear.

Be kind to your sleeping heart.

Take it out into the vast fields of Light

And let it breathe.

Say,

‘Love,

Give me back my wings.

Lift me,

Lift me nearer.’

it is time for us to forget the questions and to walk gracefully into the center of the unknown……without thought of understanding the other side of the answers…..finding the courage to be gentle in the dream……

God is a word we use, and we think we know what it means. But, in truth, God is always far beyond our understanding. We can only know God by unknowing. We can only offer our willingness and our wonder. This kind of constant and open inquiry is an intense intimacy through which we take God into our being. This wondering love-longing is a gift from God to begin with, placed deep inside us. We yearn for God because God yearns for God’s Self in us and as us. Our part is to bring our small, human will fully to this yearning, to become a profound willingness, a sanctuary where God is returned to God. No matter how we feel, when we light the wick of our willingness in whatever small means we can hold on to, we begin to open to love. The deepest part of love is ultimately willingness. It is the most precious gift we can return to the Giver of all gifts. We will be united not only to our own core but also to Life itself. In time we will experience that we have been, and always will be, held in God’s being. Then we might come to feel that we are being prayed. Our journey will no longer be experienced so much as a journey to God as a journey in God……..Gunilla Norris

holding the heart tenderly

If pulled, grief is a thread that will leave us naked in song. I’ve learned that grief can be a slow ache that never seems to stop rising, yet as we grieve, those we love mysteriously become more and more a part of who we are. In this way, grief is yet another song the heart must sing to open the gate of all there is……Mark Nepo

  1. I believe one simple realization goes a long way toward our mending (our grief) – the realization that we haven’t lost anything……. Love to you, my friend. ~ Bobbie
