brittle weeds left untouched

One tale is about how the person’s shadow lives a life of its own. Each night, when one lies down to sleep, the shadow departs, going out to explore the world it is not free to explore during the day. The shadow may become quite intrigued by the large and strange world, and be reluctant to return home at daybreak. So it is necessary for the person, early in the morning, to hum the shadow home. Each person has a song that only its shadow will recognize, and the shadow must obey the hum. If one is too busy, or too thoughtless, to hum the shadow home, the whole day will be difficult. Until the shadow comes home, the person is not whole, is not all together. It is like the person who got up on the wrong side of the bed- part of him is still missing. Humming the shadow home is necessary for harmony, for inner unity……Mary Jose Hobday

what a mysterious lesson……to intuit the inner realm as part of a daily practice is to return again and again to the sanctity of soul…..

If we are spiritual beings on a human path rather than human beings who may be on a spiritual path, then life is not only a journey, but a pilgrimage or quest as well…..Jean Shinoda Bolen

a beautiful disconnect

A very powerful question may not have an answer at the moment it is asked. It will sit rattling in the mind for days or weeks as the person works on an answer. If the seed is planted, the answer will grow. Questions are alive…..Fran Peavey

  1. I can’t help but think of Sundays when I was young. After church, we’d sprint from the steps to the car, hoping to get there first – to be the one that got the seat that had been warmed by sun through the windshield. It was comfortable, a moment of absolute bliss so sweet that you could fall asleep in minutes. Some things don’t last forever, but some things do. Like a good song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times, pressing down on the corners and peering in close, hoping you still recognize the person (the soul) you see there….. That is the permanence of something bigger than time, something as true as love. ❤
