self limits or integral self?

You didn’t come into this house so I might tear off a piece of your life.

Perhaps when you leave you’ll take something of mine:

chestnuts, roses or a surety of roots.

…Pablo Neruda

our healing is found in our bones….in our relationships……in the letting go of assumptions……observe and be kind to all that is winding up toward truth

I would like to pass on one little bit of advice I give to everyone. Relax. Just relax. Be nice to each other. As you go through your life, simply be kind to people. Try to help them rather than hurt them. Try to get along with them rather than fall out with them. With that, I will leave you, and with all my very best wishes……Nyoshul Khenpo

from here

I am here not only to evade for a while the clamor and filth and confusion of the cultural apparatus but also to confront, immediately and directly if it’s possible, the bare bones of existence, the elemental and fundamental, the bedrock which sustains us. I want to be able to look at and into a juniper tree, a piece of quartz, a vulture, a spider, and see it as it is in itself, devoid of all humanly ascribed qualities, anti-Kantian, even the categories of scientific description. To meet God or Medusa face to face, even if it means risking everything human in myself. I dream of a hard and brutal mysticism in which the naked self merges with a nonhuman world and yet somehow survives still intact, individual, separate. Paradox and bedrock…..Edward Abbey

  1. Of heroes … Life can be simple or heroic, and anywhere in between. There is always a choice, though many – dare I say most – are content with watching or reading the stories of heroes in the media. There is a propagation of the faith going on that we must learn to understand. Shall we not go gently into that dark night?
