Faith is the centerpiece of a connected life. It allows us to live by the grace of invisible strands. It is a belief in a wisdom superior to our own. Faith becomes a teacher in the absence of fact. ~Terry Tempest Williams
we forget how grace really shows up in our lives……can we learn how to receive it a little more gently….a little more fearlessly……
Returning to ourselves as material beings reminds us to place less emphasis on the flickering tickertape of verbal commentary, and to focus instead on older, steadier, more grounded pleasures. It is helpful, perhaps, to think in terms of “coming to our senses,” reinhabiting ourselves as living, breathing creatures, not just a 3 pound brain tilted sideways above strained shoulders and neglected legs. A little ease, a little spaciousness. Such things aren’t casual. Slowly we return to the immediate present, to the flowers on the table, to the cat’s soft fur. Time spreads out around us, a slow and rippling pool. There is time to watch and listen, time to remember. Our animal selves, so long ignored, settle back into the breathing landscape of the earth itself. ~Christian McEwen
The world is a better place for having its stories told.
~Grace Paley
How we come to know the world, to understand existence in time is the great paradox. Yes, we must come to know our animal selves, as the being we call me has all of the requisite thoughts, feelings and emotions to sell express … To transcend, could also be considered forsaking the reason we chose to be. What a fine line the mystic must walk between now and forever …
this hits home…….how to be, how to live as if all was a dream, how to be present fully……a constant renewal….
*self expression – dreaming presence … Hmmm … That’s worth exploring !
