There is no security in following the call to adventure. Nothing is exciting if you know what the outcome is going to be. ~Joseph Campbell
we can always find spaces where the call is stronger toward our unlived lives…..
inquiry for today~ how does bravery play in your day-to-day world? how much courage can you muster toward a dream?
Is anybody else going through a creative purge, a soul detox, a cleansing of some sort? Are you cleaning the house too? Letting go of what doesn’t build you up? Stepping out into the new without any Plan B? Jumping off that cliff without any parachutes but your creative cape?
This inevitable decision to no longer lie to myself in any way has taken over me lately & I don’t have patience for anything or anyone that unwillingly distracts me from fulfilling my purpose. So I’ve been quickly letting go of people, ideas & beliefs that I used to call home, that no longer feel like one.
And there is nothing sad about it, no drama, no regrets, only a bigger Yes to all that gives me life, a greater love freed up, more space for who I am becoming vs. the constant struggle to maintain what I no longer am, addicted to the could-have, should-have, would-have.
Love & change are our only constant. True love requires letting go.
I simply don’t have time. Neither do you. Life is too short. Our energy is gold. Our time is made of diamonds.
So don’t waste yourself on vampires that deplete you: passing as mediocre jobs, people you don’t align with, want or need, beliefs that insult & dismiss your soul… Don’t settle for a smaller story than the one you’re capable of creating.
Don’t fight the empty battles that malnourish your soul. Break free & build another world with your bare hands. Nothing is worth a dime without your heart fully alive in it.
Don’t take advice from anyone not living the life you desire.
Look at the facts, ask the questions, face the issues head on, don’t be seduced by empty drama that distracts you from the real Truth of You.
Surround yourself with the Doers, get infused with their creative energy. Don’t let somebody else’s negativity, smallness or lack of vision sabotage your life or dreams in the way.
As grandpa Joseph Campbell just WhatsApp’d me, “We’re not on our journey to save the world but to save ourselves. But in doing that you save the world. The influence of a vital person vitalizes.”
Seek to be around this energy as much as possible. And a kind farewell to the rest.
