bare feet

You get your power from the first step. It’s exhilarating. Pushing away from the bank and going down a whitewater river that you have never been down before. After that, everything falls into place. The power comes from that first step.  ~Ed Gillette

count the moments of deepest reprimand….and then know that the time has come to let go….

inquiry for today~  from the inside of a beautiful summer day, can you surrender to nature’s rugged wild? can you be barefoot for a little while?

wayward mysteries

Your grief for what you’ve lost lifts a mirror up
to where you’re bravely working.

Expecting the worst, you look, and instead
here’s the joyful face you’ve been wanting to see.

Your hand opens and closes and opens and closes.
If it were always a fist or always stretched open,
you’d be paralyzed.

Your deepest presence is in every small contracting
and expanding,
the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as bird wings.
