time spent

This what I believe.

That I am I.

That my soul is a dark forest.

That my known self will never be more than a little clearing in the forest.

That gods, strange gods come forth into the clearing of my know self,

and then go back.

That I must have the courage to let them come and go.

That I will never let mankind put anything over me,

but that I will try always to recognize and submit to the gods in me

and the gods in other men and women.

~D.H. Lawrence

what stands out in the integrity of your world? how do you live within its guidance?

inquiry for today~   maybe a brief respite in nature- purposeful and intentional could lift you back to your purpose, to a vision of all that is never wasted…….

wordless wanderings

Lawrence recognized the importance of strange gods coming forth to reshape and renew us and help us attain growth and liberation. the desire to replenish, rebalance, and come into inner harmony and natural rhythm is a universal longing that spans time traditions. We can nourish it in nature. In traditional societies of North America, individuals who are in transition go on vision quests, spending time alone in nature without diversions. This allows them to go within, listen deeply for guidance, and reflect upon what is true and right for their spiritual development and life purpose. Narritjin Maynuru Yirrkala, an Australian Aborigine, said, “We long to see the ground. It is our power. And we must stay close to it or maybe we will get lost. ”   ~Angeles Arrien
