forget the safe route; find a passionate life in raw awareness

1-Pics for Blog Edits16This integral transformation, the transformation of everything, is the next great human frontier! St. Paul said, ‘There are treasures in heaven. Things the eye hath not seen nor the ear has not heard.’ These ecstasies are beyond our present ability to comprehend. Yet, we get little glimmers. I say: it’s peeking up everywhere!….Michael Murphy

when we miss the extraordinary…..

Transformative practice helps us begin to tell the story of our life. As we grow more intimate with things as they are, we begin to notice the glory of God in each one. Meditation just makes it easier to remember what God, yourself, and all of life are about. Love the Lord your God, your heart, mind, and soul and your neighbor as yourself. It’s all right there, there’s nothing else really. That’s why we are here. That’s why we do this practice. Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, or whatever, that’s why people gather to worship and practice- the abundant life wants to be known! It’s the way we need to live together, to weave a tapestry of life that allows the universe to express itself…..Davids Parks-Ramage

the soul cannot grow without light, feeding, and rest…..like a child, the soul blooms with play, deep love, moderate discipline, and the nourishment of wiser souls…..rest in the soul’s inherent strength….

Mostly I came to my current path and practices- and my interest in and willingness to practice meditation and service and prayer- out of my own personal despair, suffering, and confusion. I came to a place of hopelessness, to a place of really feeling like everything that I’d thought would work in the material world- drugs, violence, pleasure, crime, my own confused attempts to find satisfaction- actually led to great personal despair and suffering. And from that place, there was sort of a realization that what I’d been doing was creating more suffering, not less. Coming around to some place of willingness and saying, ‘Okay, that didn’t work. Maybe this spiritual stuff’- which I had great resistance to and had characterized as being for brain-dead followers; as escapism. a cop-out, as an unrealistic peace-and-love-ethic; as hippie shit- ‘maybe these spiritual folks knew something that I don’t know.’…..Noah Levine

may we refocus the spirit to a new contentment, a soul energy, a harmony of ugly and dark to balance our fast-paced engagement of ‘wanting,’ and ‘needing’ and ‘doing’…..bringing the mind in tune with the breath shows us our shared humanity….

decide to be happy

render others happy

proclaim your joy

love passionately your miraculous life

do not listen to promises

do not wait for a better world

be grateful for every moment of life

switch on and keep on

the positive buttons in yourself,

those marked optimism, serenity, confidence,

positive thinking, love-

pray and thank God every day

meditate

smile

laugh

whistle

sing

dance

look with fascination at everything

fill your lungs and heart with liberty

be yourself fully and immensely

act like a king unto Death

feel God in your body, mind, heart, and soul

and be convinced of eternal life and resurrection.

….Robert Muller
