a passion to live in the fire

Sitting in the morning sun I watch and listen

Not just with my eyes and ears

but also with my heart and soul

Show me ancient ways of seeing

Teach me intuitive ways of listening

Not just with my eyes and ears

but also with my heart and soul

I follow my path into this new way of living

Show me ancient ways of seeing

To hear Spirit’s whisperings in the wind

Sitting in the morning sun I watch and listen

the mysteries within seep through color and pen and sound….through our love of home and soul-making and our children……through prayer and light and touch…..keep filling the well….keep listening deep and knowing that nothing we discover and create is in vain…..

The bottom line is that writers write, painters paint, composers compose, photographers photograph, and dancers dance. Over and over again. Sometimes we use the same stories and images, sounds and movements. Sometimes we work on the same themes using different stories and images, sounds and movements. Sometimes we create the unexpected and never repeat. More often we create between dental appointments and taking our children to hockey practice. But we do our creative work. It’s how we learn how to do our creative work. Sometimes we are afraid we will never be able to write or paint or compose or dance or film the wholeness or beauty or truth we ache to produce. And in these moments we take ourselves out into the world and let our love of the sensual beauty of this physical life, our spirituality, our experience of the truth we ache for, find us and rekindle our passion to create. We let the dance between the world and our imaginations move us. And we begin again, painting or writing or composing, moving or photographing or filming. It’s how we dip down into that well of creative potential and weave a story or create an image or find just a single phrase of melody that takes the breath away. It’s how we pray, how we participate in life. Over and over again……Oriah Mountain Dreamer

Real play, the mud pie version, is goalless. It is the mind meandering from one thing to the next, in a constant process of acceptance and movement. Play is the dance of possibilities performed by the agile human mind. It encompasses textural experience, intellectual curiosity, creative activity, and the exhilaration of discovery. You could say that play is the central ingredient in the transformational abilities of our species. Spiritually, it is the sacred celebration of our spontaneous engagement with the world around us……Adriana Diaz

  1. It is all worthy; all the best we’ve ever known. Let us sit lovingly with this moment. I love that. Let us welcome our becoming with the most simple of all beauties. ~ Bobbie
