to savor

See with every turning day,
how each season wants to make
a child of you again, wants you to become
a seeker after rainfall and birdsong,
watch how it weathers you to a testing
in the tried and true, tells you
with each falling leaf, to leave and slip away,
even from the branch that held you,
to go when you need to, to be courageous,
to be like that last word you’d want to say
before you leave the world.

Above all, be alone with it all,
a hiving off, a corner of silence
amidst the noise, refuse to talk
even to yourself, and stay in this place
until the current of the story
is strong enough to float you out.

….David Whyte

so like the child is the undercurrent of our greatest meanings……believing, wishing, praying, knowing, loving……may we savor the little boundaries that can become lighter as we immerse deep in our lives…..

This is just your life. So you do your part, and the rest is clear. It is clear because there has never been anything lacking, despite any beliefs you might have, despite any ideas you might have. There has never been anything lacking……..Elihu Genmyo Smith

Firmness is incomplete

Without softness to receive it.

Embrace these two,

and a child is formed,

Perfect, innocent, and free.

Give to the day

Receive from the night;

Honor these two,

Become the ritual of life.

Live your highest aspriations

In an assuming way;

Cupped hands at the crystal spring.

Be the lump of clay

And the sculptor too;

A universe of unlimited potential.

…..Haven Trevino

  1. Are we not at every moment the coming day, the brilliance of the noon day sun, it’s setting, and a rising moon … Only in those moments were we slip between those cracks in time do we see these truths we long to savor … Beautiful remembrance said for today … Thank you !
