can we know the depth of suffering?

the silvery threads of disillusion

the blurred light resists its shadows

the sublimity of the heart cracking open

a new vision of melancholia

bearing witness to the worn-down life

a gentler, more sophisticated awakening

purpose & sorrow intertwined

wayward, forlorn, & human

the small, vague & ragged utterance

no enlightenment, just light

making ourselves comfortable for the long haul into humanity
